SWEET ‘N SOUR Project – 5N
Since the topic "health & fitness" is not only popular in our everyday lives, but it was also part of our English lessons, we - the 5N together with our English teacher Ms. Buijs- decided to put our theoretical knowledge into practice and prepare our own healthy snacks in school.
We started our project by coming up with our own ideas of healthy recipes that are fairly easy to make and don't require any special devices, such as an oven or a freezer. In order to get some food inspiration, we formed several groups, and then we searched for healthy snacks on the internet as well as in cookbooks at home. Afterwards, each group wrote down the best idea which contained the detailed description of the dish. Finally, after all groups had shared their recipes with the class, everybody voted for their favourite snack. Out of approximately ten recipes, we ultimately picked five that we wanted to prepare together.
Our English teacher Mrs. Buijs offered to provide us with all the necessary ingredients and the kitchen supplies that we borrowed from the school. It was great fun to make our healthy snacks in all colours of the rainbow on Tuesday, June 28th! Of course, we had to try everything in the break afterwards, which was certainly one of the best parts of the lesson;)
In conclusion, it was a great project that we can highly recommend!
